Tea Party 9/12 Gathering

After a strenuous and wet bike ride into the Nation's capital, I happened to stumble across a Tea Party gathering at the Washington Monument. This was a turning point in my path in this world. I was in the dark, and now I am in the light. Before I continue, it must be known that I am joining this revolutionary movement; to do any less would be a shame to my lord and savior.

Unlike the vast majority of the population, which thrives on Barack-style communism through taxes, and believes that there are fifty states (we are currently completing Cortes' unfinished conquest of Mexico, so we can have 58 states). America still has not completed her Manifest Destiny; from sea to shining sea means Alaska to Tierra del Fuego.

You Are Paying Your Taxes to a Muslim

Contrary to popular belief, your president does not go to Church. In fact, he's not even an American. With a middle name like Hussein, he clearly was in contact with Saddam before we turned Iraq into the 57th state of our fine Union. How else did Saddam hide out for so long during the occupation? Muslimism is a plague to our country, a Christian nation. Everyone knows that no Christian is that dark. Jesus Christ wouldn't have it any other way.

If we don't have the second coming before 2012, my vote lies with my baby girl Sarah Palin.

Recent past and today

"Supershow"

Currently, the world's largest gathering of fountain pen dealers, collectors, and peddlers is taking place in Tysons Corner, VA. Having grown up around these writing instruments of antiquity, it's an annual routine to accompany the patriarch to this adult playground. I only passed a day there, but in that time, I developed a new appreciation for the work of a father's friend. His name is Joe Cali. As a retired artist, he spends his time making fountain pens and dip pens. I am no art historian or critic, but these are some of the most beautiful creations that I have seen. Every human should take a lesson from this man; in my eyes, that is do as you please. At the fruitful age of 70 something, Mr. Cali is creating masterpieces that merit displays behind bulletproof glass, or in the hands of the President signing a bill into law. This is a link to Mr. Cali's page. Please examine the beauty, your eyes will thank you.

"A's experience in the American Train Industry"

I took the Amtrak E85 from Alexandria to dead Dixie's cap city last night, headed south at 7:15. Being impulsive and priveleged, I helped myself to some overpriced bananas. I sparked a conversation with the clerk working the dining car, a very pretty lady from St. Croix whose name begins with an A. Over our half-chat, I got an insiders look to the train life. I never knew to appreciate a regular cycle of rest; for a period of six months, this lady never was fortunate enough to slumber for more than five. She's on her feet for more than nine hours at a time during some shifts. It's ironic that I didn't go to sleep until 8:30 A.M. the next morning after talking to A. Even though A is a sweet lady, bananas are better purchased in bulk; $1.00/ a piece on the steel wheeled monster.

"my ego"

Right now, I feel like I am being productive if I post what I am doing to physically challenge myself, so here is what I will be doing at my Alma Mater Thomas Jefferson High School later today. Not included are a rising and falling movements to accustom myself to what is coming to me (intensity or rest).

Run 1200 meters
63 Kettlebell swings

Run 800 meters

Return, and spend more of your heartbeats reading my recaps of experiences; give me your honest opinions.

A song has a different meaning to everyone. To me, the message is be in charge of your life; don't strengthen the machine through being passive; bluntly, if you want it, go get it yourself, stop taking bait, this way your life will be more fulfilling.

Hope to hear from you, bless.

A Return

Back from the grave. Due to a friend's encouraging words and advice from the elders (Thank you, Mom), I am going to get a clear head through writing. Some interests of mine have changed, and I have made some internal lifestyle changes, many of which are dietary. Food's not my driving force in life, but my ability to see how certain fuels power the machine have improved.

This blog is going to be a place for me to speak on my interests. Lately, it's been Crossfit / Cross training (Thanks to my ex-roommate getting me interested in that, and some of the associated dietary plans) & some of the related exercises (gymnastics, Parkour, sprinting, etc) Brazilian Portuguese, and sustainable agriculture, but most of all Bushwackin'. More on that next time.

This entry is short, and I'm not taking it too seriously; but to leave you interested and entertained, here's a video that left quite an impact on me. Ya'll go on and develop your own opinion, as we should in all matters.

The intro

Until a few months ago, I was fully convinced that blogs were useless, I was under the ignorant assumption that they were just a tool of internet junkies to express an opinion and feel important. Perhaps that's not far from the truth, but it doesn't change that I have discovered myself and with the help of friends, invaluable knowledge from blogs that has aided me make some wealthy changes into my lifestyle.

2009, the measurement of time this society has accepted as an accurate measurement for time, has been a year of self-reflection and self-imposed change for me. None of the differences in my life from December 2008 were forced upon me, but developed internally as a result of various external experiences, some continuations of stale cycles of which I had seen the best and worst, through personal and secondary experience. Others were new experiences which began to dominate my days in a similar manner to the activities in the stale cycles, but the activities were like a system of gears, producing energy, while the stale cycles could be compared to a see-saw, up and down, and going nowhere but up and down on the same fulcrum.

This entry is a lot more personal than most will be, in the sense that I only have spoken about personal experiences. It will include my observations opinions, and fresh ideas on a variety of subjects, obviously my firsthand experiences. The topics which will more than likely surface with frequency are those that are of great importance to me at this point in my life. These include, but are not limited to, learning the Spanish language through alternative learning techniques, active education, self'-help (self-confidence, achieving life goals, etc), sustainable, healthy and natural lifestyles and applying them to the world around us, and agriculture.

Please share your thoughts, and bring your ideas. I want this to be a place where people don't feel insecurity or pressure to hold a certain opinion. We are all are own person, but many times we feel that we have to live up to a widespread image, due to constant external pressure from media outlets, friends, family, among others. Keep in mind that what you can conceive in your mind, you can achieve/have/fill in the blank, and naysayers or sources of discouragement are inherently weak, as they focus on the negative, the lacking, the black hole, not the beauties of the galaxy or universe on the other side.

Last note: I wrote this first entry 25 hours after I woke up, so if some parts does not make sense, although I have read it through three times, forgive me, but let me know. Enjoy my blog, and please share your thoughts and original ideas. We can all benefit from sharing one another's knowledge and action. VISIT AGAIN!!!
